The Big Easy

ARTIST STATEMENT: Lynne describes herself as a “realist painter with soul”. Whilst her subjects are diverse, each work is inspired by a perceived emotion. For example, the tranquillity of an unhurried rural lifestyle; the drama and austerity of a bygone era; the compelling performance of a musician or the beauty sensuality of a supermodel/ celeb. In the ‘The Big Easy’ Lynne wanted to create a sense of the cosy luxury of rural living. The compulsion to “flop down” in a big easy chair in a country cottage was her inspiration for this piece. Lynne's work is in private collections in Ireland, USA, UK and Germany. Lynne’s preferred medium is oils but she occasionally works in acrylics. She lives in South Kerry.
