The De Burgh O'Malley Chalice

ARTIST STATEMENT: Terence has maintained an interest in Art and art history for most of his adult life and retains a particular passion for atmospheric, moody scenes. An additional interest in ancient civilisations has been the catalyst for a series of Irish Standing Stones paintings- so the paintings of artefacts followed a natural progression. In choosing this particular artefact, Terence was inspired by the beauty and skill of the workmanship. In placing the chalice in a surreal background, he sought to convey the mystery of the ages.
